A J and the Two Tone Blues Band were the winners of the Sonny Boy Blues Society Battle of the Bands Competition on June 18, 2005 in Helena, AR. As a result of this award they performed at the King Biscuit Blues Festival main stage October 6, 2005 and qualified them to compete in the IBC, International Blues Competition, in Memphis in January 2006, placing fourth of 130 bands from around the world.
A.J. has been into music since 1970 when he fronted a band called Little Moe and the Movers. He then took a long break to get married and have three children. In 1995 he and his oldest son started a blues band, and the rest is history.
Cascio calls his sound Chicago Blues with a Delta flavor. Playing a mixture of songs made famous by Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Elmo James, Howlin Wolf, Otis Redding, Muddy Waters, Bobby Bland, B.B. King, Sonny Boy Williamson and Magic Slim.

The band has also played in several clubs in east Texas, and are available for gigs in that area as well as their Norhteast Louisiana home base.
Shreveport and Bossier City are home to several Riverboat Casinos, and AJ and the Two Tone Blues Band are often called upon to provide a musical draw to these luxurious locals
The band opened for Koko Taylor at the "Bugs, Blues and Barbeque Festival," and hosted the "Blues Jam" at Boomtown Casino. They performed in the "Celebrity Lounge" at Hollywood Casino and the new Eldorado Casino. They have also performed at the Isle of Capri, Sam's Town and performed special events at Louisiana Downs Racetrack in Bossier City.
"Blues House, "Down the Road, "1510 Fairfield Avenue, "Blues Is My Jones, and “Gotta Good Mind” are originals written by members of the Two Tones Blues Band. They are included on the CD “Blues House” released in 2003 and the DVD “Red River Revel” released in 2007.
